do it youself tuning

I am new to the world of modifications, and I would like to know if it would be possible to somehow learn to tune my 8. I am planning on upgrading the ecu (don’t know which one to go with yet either), I herd from a friend that in order to tune your car you need to be able to dyno it…I would love to learn how to tune it myself if possible, but I don’t have a private dyno. Basically would it be possible for me to tune my car all by myself, and also were I could get the knowledge of how to tune it, that is if it’s possible.
thanks a lot for your input

Yeah, tuning requires alot of experience and alot of time spend with a car and a dyno.

You have to understand how an engine works, and what is ideal for your application in terms of timing, a/f etc.

The best way for you to learn, would to get a job an a mechanic at a tuner shop somewhere.

You will know how to tune correctly once they let you work un customer cars.

My guess is a few years!
