CZ and E-manage

I have the CZ installed in my car. I have A B&B midpipe and Borla Exhaust. I will be putting my car on a DYNO-JET @ school this Thursday to tune my CZ and im curious if I still need a canscan or will the Dyno-Jet give me the information that I need to Tune the car??

I am still unclear on a few things:

1. When refering to "stage 1 & stage2" is that the CZ unit or the map installed... Or both. Im under the impression that stage 2 just means you have tweaked both a/f & timing. is that right... can someone please explain that to me.

If I change my timing does that mean I have a Stage 2??

2. I understand about tuning the car @ diferent RPM, which is displayed @ along the top of the maps.. what are the numbers along the side??
*I have attached a picture*

Thanks for your help guys

You're kidding, right?

On the top map, it says "Column: Throttle Position Value" right next to the text you put in asking if that column of for throttle position.

Then, you write "what is this?" directly under the pull-down menu that says "Airflow Meter Flap (V)".

I hope the shop will tune it for you. If you are dyno-tuning this yourself, at least give it some time to learn the process properly. If you don't get the concept 100% yet, postpone this Thursday's dyno. Don't mess up your car by not preparing.

Thanks Xyntax... I my instructor will be helping me...

and MazdaManiac I wasent looking for someone to critisize me or make a joke. Im asking for help. So if you arent going to explain it to me then I suggent you keep your comments to you self. I dident ask for someone to make a smartass comment. I asked for someone to explain what this stuff is..

I have a few maps downloaded that have been tuned allready... and I will be using thoes.. but I would like to understand how the system works so that if I want to tune it my self... I can.

Can anyone explain My questions from above..
Thanks
Rusty

If you weren't so busy feigning offense, you would have seen that I pointed out the answers to your questions in my original response.
My point was (as gently reinforced by Xyntax) that if you can't even deduce the proper answers, let alone follow my hints, you shouldn't be fooling with the E-Manage tuning.

Get over it.

If you are at the stage that you are still learning how to use the software....listen to those of us that have played with it a lot....don't do it if you aren't sure what you are doing. ESPECIALLY ON A DYNO WHERE YOU HAVE HIGH LOADS AND HEAT SOAKING OF THE ENGINE.

We can't make you listen...but go and play a little on the street...and see what happens first.

Mazda Maniac has a lot of experience with the E-manage..and we have learned a lot from him...........he just wants you to think first before you do anything that could blow your motor

your answers are Throttle position and Airflow Voltage from the MAF

You also need to know that the CZ as from Canzoomer deals with the MAF differently than you would expect...and you use positive #'s to remove fuel....and -ve #'s to add fuel.

So you could have more difficully than you think...Good Luck

Thanks guys for the input and concern. I probably wont be messing with the mixtures then my... I do understand the concept.. I just wasn’t sure what the definitions of the columns meant...Im sure mazdamaniac has a lot of knowledge but the way he came about I felt was not what i asked for. I felt it was rude and if you would have com about it a different way...I wouldn’t have been offended. I appreciate they way dannobre approached the situation. Maybe it the fact that Im young and cocky, but I appreciate a tactful way of telling someone that they dont know **** and to be careful. I know I dont fully understand the system and how it works, thats why im askin questions.
Thanks swoope for the info. I read that page 15 but I will def. look up and read more..

Is the only way to tell if your timing is advanced to have it on the dyno or canscan? or is there a way to see that in e-manage for the maps that are pre tuned for timing advance.

Thanks

RX8inch............as you get older your "filter" for that will get better.

Some are abrasive...but if you listen and don't let the ego get the better of you it makes learning easier
