hey guys im about to purchase these items and would like to know if anyone has ever bought these yet. i've been searching real quick and seems like couple has bought the SR motorsports but none that i see on ACT anyone out there? and if so. how do u like it? pros cons blah blah. the whole shebangggg

My flywheel is the Racing beat one.
I haven't had any problems and it's only alittle stiffer than the stock clutch.

The ACT Prolite Flywheel here, since March. Love it -- best mod so far.

I went with the MazdaSpeed Clutch.

I have ACT and RB flywheel. It is great. A little tough on traffic, my leg can get tired sometimes .

SR Motorsports are idiots, they fool people with fake dynos and things like that.

If you want ACT stuff. I suggest you go over to www.rx8store.net. jason has it for much cheaper than SR Motorsports. I have the Centerforce clutch & SR Motorsports lightened flywheel (got it from somebody who gave me a great deal, otherwise I would have gotten the Racing Beat unit).

I have the SR extreme duty clutch and flywheel. Stiffer than stock, which makes my leg get tired on traffic hours. Need to rev to engine a lil more, it's also a great mod if your planning on getting turbo later on.

My Centerforce unit is lighter than stock (surprisingly) & provides 90% more clamping force.

I had a centerforce dual friction on my RX-7, the break in was a pain, but it was a quality product. Well worth it.

I drove Fanmans car and can tell you that it is actually lighter then stock. First thing I noticed when I got in it. Didn't notice any difference in driving style nessasary for the flywheel or clutch.

Oops forgot to tell everyone (Richard included yesterday) that I have Royal Purple Tranny oil. That might help the "smoothness" of my clutch a bit. That & I have Richard's shifter, which helps the shifting, so overall my gear changes feel much better.

ACT Prolite here w/ stock clutch. Absolutely great. Have installed 7 of them on customer cars all with glowing results. No need for hd clutch unless you are going turbo. It makes the car really nice to drive and very smooth w/out extra pedal effort that some clutches give. I do however really like ACT clutches.

hey. on the RP short shifter. "how" much different does it feel honestly. i heard from many others. not "8" drivers that they have problems with shift linkage or something like that. you think its "safe" or wutever u wanna call it. i've been thinkin about it. but i thought that our 8 was short enough. thanks fanman

It's definitely a good improvement. It feels sturdier than the stock shifter & a good 20%-30% shorter. You can feel when you push the shifter into the gate. It's more precise. The stock unit is quite good, the RP shifter is just a level better.

will the a lighter flywheel help 0-60 speed? i know it helps acceleration so i wouldnt see why your 0-60 time wouldnt be faster or am i wrong? im looking into one bc of the high gas prices i have been shifting at lower rpms and the 8's pick up shifting at 3500-4k isnt very good... also how much aprox is it to get one installeD?

from what i heard the comparisons' are very similar to each other. i believe exedy is more expensive tho.

Not sure if a flywheel puller is included with the kit, but it makes taking off the flywheel about 10X easier.

yes it defintely one of my better mods on my car where i can feel difference. around 6k and up it kicks in. it helps. install fee? hmmm i don't remember how much i paid to get it installed... i forgot lol

I don't remember if we used a fly puller or not when we did rxeighter's flywheel/clutch setup. I seem to remember using a dead-blow hammer in a strategic, super-secret location on the flywheel and it popped right off. I would advise others to use Loctite Blue when re-installing the fly and pressure plate bolts. We did the swap on our backs with hand tools and it took about 5 hours at a relaxed pace with diminshing ambient light.

ive got the act hp clutch, n the street lite flywheel, my car might not accelerate as fast as those with the prolite, but on the otherhand when ur stuck in traffic its nice when ur car doesnt jolt like it does with those who have a LIGHT WEIGHT flywheel, where it just bogs right around 5mph. so if u want good acceleration along with good drivability, go with streetlite.... if u want performance n sacrifice some daily drive performance , then go with prolite.
