Anyone consider quad exhaust?

Wonder if it would look weird in the back...sounds like a cool idea.

I remember reading on 'Hymee's' writeup that they were considering quad exhaust but the pipes would've been too small. It could possibly make the entire rear look a bit cluttered. hmm, just a thought.

I did some photo-shopping a while ago to see what it might look like. In the end we didn't go with it. See for yourself:

Quad exhaust pipes

It actually looks pretty good. As someone said in that particular thread, the melting plastic would definitely be an issue.

That would be the AU-TO Bahn Strasse kit. It has quad mufflers and looks quite sharp. I doubt it'll fit a stock rearend though... you'll need the bodykit rearend to make it work, but it's damn sharp. However... the mufflers run like $1,200... a little more than standard JDM price ($800-1,000).

Rotary Run Racing also makes a set that will fit the stock rearend and looks similar to those photochop pics. It runs 42,000 JPY ($400). I dunno if I like the look myself...

You could prolly do somethin pretty whack w/it tho. Run 2 pipes out the back and run 2 flat pipes under the sides like a mustang kit. but then you'd be kinda gay cause well.. i hate mustangs.

All the headers are 3 (exhaust ports) into 1 (pipe down to mufflers). Wouldn't we need a triple exhaust? Quad wouldn't help that much if we are running 3 into 1. Quad tips might look cool, but I don't think it will book more power.

Whatever makes you guys happy. Spending money on extra sound doesn't float my boat.

But I assumed since this was in the Aftermarket and PERFORMANCE forum, you might be interested in performance instead of "Exterior Appearance and Body Kits."

My bad for making assumptions :P

If that was entirely so then there should no posts on Borla, RB, B&B, etc. exhausts. There should be no posts on the K&N or RE intakes. None of them make any *real* difference in perfomance... 5-10hp at best... if even that much.

No one was picking on you roberdot... just stated the facts of the discussion in a direct manner.

Thanks dude i am too lazy to get the scanner out.

It said sus304 and Titanium made... they mention is a high pitch sound - it means in Japan it is in par of most titanium, or HKS, or close to Hymee's (for the Ozzies)... NICE

I think the quad exhuast would look better if they tips were closer together, like the Corvette muffler.

The Leg Motorsports one isn't *really* quad exhaust.
1. it has a huge single can like the stock muffler
2. only 2 of the 4 pipes are working until about 4500rpm when an actuator opens and the other 2 pipes come "on-line." The purpose is for sound control with performance increase.

Thanks for that... that sounds very much like variable valving in most muffler that comes with a control.
