anybody with rp race pipe and rb cat back?

Rotary performance claims 21 hp with there race pipe and catback setup. Just wanted to know if anybody has that setup and what they got from it. I want to go with the racingbeat cat back and maybe the rp race pipe. But a 21 hp gain dose not seem realistic. They have a dyno chart on there site but dont mention if any thing else has been done to the car, and from there sound clip it seemd loud as hell! Almost every part on my old turbo fc is from rp, so I know they are a stand up shop just wanted to know if anybody has this exaust setup, and what they think of it. Thanks

well I have the luxury of not having to worry about smog test. My main concern is the sound, and im sure I will get a cel since there will be no cat.

Here is a video clip of the RP Midpipe and Greddy Exhaust.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGjizAe8mwE

Its pretty loud, but sounds very nice (in my opinion). Its not too obnoxious.
This car is also turbo'd, so on an NA setup it will be a little louder. Then again the Racing Beat exhaust is quieter than the greddy, so it might sound similar to this.

Thanks, that did sound nice but the setup will be na. The sound clip on rp was with the windows up and was realy raspy and harsh. The racing beat catback will be alot more mellow than the greddy I hope.

greddy certainly has that raspy note to it, which the rb doesn't. it should be easier on the ears

One more thing, I read in the sticky that any mod other than intake or cat back will require ecu tuning. So what exactly are you guys with midpipes or any thing else that drasticly changes air flow using to tune? Is the tune for more gains,or will you run to lean and pop an apex seal if you just instal the midipipe or straight pipe without any mod to the ecu?

Noise is a big concern.

And with the right set up it won't be too loud.

That's why people ask.

And know one really asks about race pipe due to smog.

For quite go RP w/cat and stock exhaust.

For a little louder go w/ RB cat back.

Even SR motor sports will recomend a staright Mid pipe to be used with stock CATback if noise is your concern.

Never said I dident want loud. I just want a tastefull sound. Thanks for the sound clip though that was helpfull. My post count is low but I have owned sevens for a very long time, but only had the eight for a few weeks. So Im not saying I want the mods with no draw back what so ever just the least amount possible. Would you spend 500+ dollars on something you knew nothing about? just wanted to know if anybody had the race pipe and what there impressions were. Oh but since my post count is low here you go. Can I own my best friends 350z in the Q/M? he got body kit and cold air I got racepipe and cat back I gota launch at like 9k hu?

I have the rb test pipe and catback. I put them on together and run them like that most of the time. I think it sounds great. The CEL in on with catalyst efficiency code. I haven't had it dyno tested but there is definitely a difference. I think most of the gain is from the cat-delete pipe. About a month ago I went to do an autocross race and since I was competing in the stock class. I put the cat back in the night before and immediately noticed a loss in power.

Well I ment is the connecting pipe "that comes with the rb race pipe " a delete pipe or does it just bolt on to the back of the cat?

The "race pipe" replaces the cat. When installed, you no longer have a cat.
