It looks nice but a blind claim of 8-15 hp increase is pure speculation for marketing. Which is it, 8 or 15 hp? Under what circumstances? Stock? This engine is pretty hard to get large gains out of. I'm going to need some verified numbers before I believe you can get this much over an already very good intake manifold. I don't believe it.

I'd be willing to build these for less than half of their price easily. I don't know what performance advantage you're going to get but I'd make money. I guess I'm lousy at advertising!

There is no way 8HP should = $1,450, gosh...I feel cheap or something but I just don't see how getting 8HP for that price makes it a good deal?

Note: rotarygod if you could give me 15HP for $700...that would be a much better deal! A deal worth looking into!

There you go Fred, that's how you make money off of advertising. Tell them you'll give 'em 15 HP and take his money. Seems to work for some.

Just might take some authority away from your long winded lectures. Small price to pay for wealth.

I find it hard to believe that the upper intake manifold is that much of a restriction. However, lets assume 8 hp for a sec. If your going to boost the car, it might be worthwhile, as the assumed better flow would make even more power than the 8hp. Better flow is always good for FI. Just like a midpipe and catback may give you 10-12 hp on a stock car, with FI it'll easily give you more (ie stock hp vs "stock" turbo'd hp).
This is all assuming it flows better than stock. But $1500 is frickin' pricey. For that price you could buy an entire exhaust (headers, x-pipe, catback) on a Mustang or F-body, and that's significantly more metal. I guess supply and demand (mostly supply in this case)....

$700 seems more like it, though that's still a little high imo. But i guess people will buy it, after all people pay $1000+ for catbacks from Japan

Note their, uh..note.

For FI, etc...

8hp...15hp...the only thing important is the answer to this question:

Is it (trying to draw dyno plots here..bear with me)

____^___ = 8hp?

or

___^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ = 8 hp?

I could take an 8hp peak gain, put it in a pretty package and take your hard-earned money for it. Sure. Hell, RG, build the thing, and I'll market it.

But if their claims are legit, it'd have to be a sustained large increase.

There does not look like any place for more injectors... The HKS Intake Manifold has provisions for two more injectors.

It runs. The outside is clean, the inside is getting cleaner. Had to use carb cleaner on the carpet! Engine bay still looks the same. It's coming along.

Old thread comes back to life...

I forgot about this thread so sorry for not answering the question about $700 for 15HP, since it's so old I forgot what I was talking about.

By the way, RP...I don't give ANYONE my money until I've researched the HELL out of the product in question. Saying I'm interested (in GOD's knows what anymore, I forgot) does not mean I wrote a check and mailed it.

To be a man of few words. You're looking for more trouble then you can handle.
And if you can spend enough time and money to solve the problems, you will gain nothing.
