Smile possible Silver/Ti or other color RX8 spotted@Concord Mills Sunday night 7/27?

Last night, 7/27 around 10-10:30ish pm i saw what looked like either a Ti or Silver RX-8, although it was hard to tell because lighting was so poor. If you are on here, i passed you in the parking lot. I was driving a Competition Yellow Mica RX-7 and waved. If you are a member, nice looking car! :D

Quite possible! My husband saw a Silver RX-8 near Uptown
Charlotte yesterday. Most Charlotte dealers have only one demo RX-8 so far. Must be an out-of-towner.

Ordered my 8 on Sat. Dealer ordered right in front of me so I know it went in. Anyone know approx. how long
before I can expect a VIN?

Force, thanks for the compliment on the car. It's a Titanium Grey 6speed model I purchased last Thursday night. She is certainly a beauty, nice to drive, and handles the road like no other.

We were actually at the mall Sunday because we went to see the new Tomb Raider movie and we headed out around 10ish .... I checked out your home page and have to say your rx7 and viper pics are awesome.

Good work!!!! :D

Gee, i stopped by Montgomery Mazda and the other Mazda dealership in Concord. Montgomery had a yellow 8, the other dealer had a red one. Both dealerships only had one model, and the "market adjustment" on the Yellow one was $2500 Of course we all knew that was going to happen. I've even heard "market adjustments" as much as $10,000 in some areas. I'd really like to test drive one.

Neo, beautiful looking car from what i could tell in just passing, late at night with poor lighting, lol. I bet you are certainly enjoying the 8!

Thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately, my 2000 Viper RT is no longer part of the stable. It's a long and sad story, but she has gone to Mopar Heaven, with just 2900 miles on her too

I still have the CYM RX-7 though! She just turned 41,800 original miles the other day. The car is all original except for springs and Tokico 5 ways. If you are ever in the area again, drop me a line as i'd love to check out your 8 in greater detail. You can email me at:
Rotorary7@aol.com

Enjoy the 8! :D

Most definately! I just need to strip her of the manufacturer's wax, claybar her, and rewax her and get all the impurities out of the wax from shipment. Just have to find a good time to do it when I have several hours ... Any recommendations?

Sorry to hear about your Viper, it was certainly a nice car too my friend... I live in the University area so maybe we can meet up sometime either at the mall or in a local public area place and you can check her out. You can email me anytime at rx8@tkdsoftware.com....

Neo, as for stripping the car wax, i'm no detailing expert, but i have heard that a dish detergent like Dawn will strip the wax.

Now for the claybar, polish and wax, i would highly recommend Griot's Garage products. They sell a clay bar, polish and wax that is the best i have found so far. It's a bit pricey, but if you value your investment like i do it's a no brainer.

As for meeting up, my schedule is free this upcoming weekend. I can meet you at Concord Mills or any other place in the University area since i live right off of Mallard Creek Church road. There's a Stool Pigeons, Flying Saucers, etc close by.

Darril, that's what I have been told too about Dawn; however it's good to use it the first time when you want to strip the manufacturer's wax off the car and get it down to the paint so you can get any impurities out :-) ...

Where can I find the Griot's products? My friend suggested Zaino at zaniostore.com I believe. He said that it's pricey too; however price isn't an issue... except when I run out of the green stuff

:D

I live off Harris at Sugar Creek... We'll see how this week goes and how the weekend shapes up for me ... I know my in-laws are coming into town not this weekend but the next ... So not sure how much cleaning I'll be doing around the place to get it ready ...

Darril,
You can test drive the 8 at Donald Craig Mazda in Mooresville.
That's where I ordered mine because they let me drive it.
They have one red 6spd GT with Nav. When I
called them they said "Come on down, take a spin and see what you think." They also agreed to MSRP if I ordered one (as opposed to buying one of the 25 they already have coming in. My RX-8 is number 26 priced at MSRP and should be in by the end of September. (I'm NOT holding them to that after hearing all of the pre-order horrror stories!) It's okay though, I could use the time to save some more money and try to unload my Pontiac.

So drop by Donald Craig, right off of Exit 36. They are really low-pressure since they haven't even been trained to sell the car yet!

Neo, go to www.griotsgarage.com for the Griots products that i suggested. I don't think you would be disappointed. The Zaino products are also very good too, although i don't know that they have a clay bar available.

Gee, thanks! Test driving the new RX-8 in a low pressure environment would be ideal, so i'll have to check them out. I just moved here from upstate NY, so i'm still finding my way around. Is that exit 35 off of 85, 77 or 485?

Darril,
Exit 36 on I-77. When you get off at the exit, go right at the light. It is down the hill and on the left. You can't miss it cause the 8 is parked right out front in the driveway of the dealership!

I'm from NY too! - Long Island, NY. I Love it here! Can't wait to take my 8 on a road trip back to the big apple for a visit. 12 hours will fly by in that sweet ride!

Should take it up to the mountains on the parkway and see how she handles on the curving streets. That's what I can't wait for in a few months when we take our fall break trip up to asheville... What a gorgeous ride it'll be
