I would just go to the other threads involving Raleigh, but I live in Old Fort, NC....which I'm sure none of you know of. It's in western NC, about 20 minutes away from Asheville, and about 60 minutes away from Hickory....2 hours from Charlotte. I plan on ordering mine soon. I just have to talk to my dad first about transferring money from my stocks to my account.... Just wondering if there are anymore western NC people out there. I currently own a 1999 Mercury Cougar, but look forward to owning a brand New RX-8!! Z (jason)

I live in Raleigh, but my wife is transferring to Asheville. I've got to finish school up here and then I'll be in Asheville too.

I know of Old Fort. I camped there once, very beautiful. Not an ounce of beer in the entire place though. Every single time I drive by it on 40, I think the sign says "Old Fart."

I won't be able to get an RX-8 for a while though.

Me too!! hehehe I grew up in Statesville, NC...still go there to visit but have lived in Charleston, SC for 15+ years.

I live in Campobello SC (Exit 5 on I26), which should technically count as western NC as i can be there in 3min, but i make frequent trips to asheville, about twice to three times a week and have not seen ne rx7's or 8's around here. In fact the only nice cars i have seen around are an old 60's Ferrari in Tryon and a 300ZX in Columbus, a Z that i see sometimes, and of course the Viper in Tryon. Other then that it is all SUVs, 18wheelers, or econocars.

I live in Fayetteville but just made a run up to Cherokee a few weeks back so my wife could get her slots fix. Actually had to leave early so we would beat the ice storm.

It was a blast driving on 19 into Cherokee from Asheville. On the way back down I ran pretty hard and my wife ended up sick from all the twists and turns and I had to stop in Maggie Valley for her to calm her stomach down a bit.

Hopefully one day we will have a place in either Asheville or near Boone as we both love it there.

Let me know if you guys ever want to do a meet or anything. Patton Ave. in Asheville is hot on Fri and Sat nights with cars riding back and forth. I'm game for a meet then to show off some. Next time you are heading toward Cherokee let me know and we can set up some meeting then too.

I saw a silver RX8 on 26 near exit 18 or 49 depending on where u r coming from. It was about 4:30. Was wondering if it was nebody on this forum.

I saw a black 8 today on 25 right over exit 44 (old 13) on 26. It was around 6:00. I was in my highlander when i saw it though, not my 8.
