O-town RX-8 meet!!

Hey peeps!

As it turns out, I'll be in Orlando from 3/5-3/19 visiting my parents. I'd love to check out everyone's cars, listen to the various cat-back systems... just generally meet up and drool over your cars. :D It's not an 8, but I'll head on over in our 1990 5.0 LX Project Mustang.

epitrochoid is up for it, but out ot town during the beginning dates. Anyone else wanna hook it up... maybe meet at XYZ place, and have some dinner there. Anyone who has magazines can bring them and share. If people are interested, I can go shopping for some JP mags before I leave for the US. Another meeting, or a future "touring" type event could event be planned during this time if some people are interested... "There are no mountains in Florida... so where are the good twisties???" This is one way to find out all the secrets and more...

Ouch... looks like a cruise for me from the 11th- 15th a.m. Is meeting in the evening on a weekday NG? For anyone who's going to be in town with the time... I'll probably hit the drag races at the track in Bithlo (sp?) on Sat 3/6.

how about wednesday night, the 10th? there's some other 8 owners that will be down that week from out of state.

we can get 20% off at the hooters out here by ucf.

I'm in. If you want, I can bring some sweet Miatas with me, since I'm still a member of a large Miata club here in O-town. ( I traded a SC'd Miata for the 8...)

Oooh... Miatas are nice too. Speaking of which... have you guys seen the Turbo Miata that just came out over here? And now a couple also... yum yum (I thinkj the roadster looks better though).

Anyone else??? At least as far as info I'm bringing... I've picked up three JP mags... RX-7 Magazine, RE Rotary Magazine and Option 2. There are some great articles... awesome stuff underdevelopment that I have given a "taste" of to the forum in a post to rotarygod in the audio and electronics section and in the aftermarket parts section..."Blitz supercharger" thread. There is much much more... I've only started reading the mags and it will take a little time to read, translate and post pics... especially with vacation coming up. So any peeps that can meet up will get the full low down...

So... it's looking like the 10th at Hooters near UCF (been awhile since I've been there... there is only one around there, right?). Time? 8pm-ish? I'll PM everyone who chimes in with the final details by the weekend...

yeah, i went to Bithlo on friday night. My first time out there. I didn't know that it coincided with Fun Ford weekend...or whatever that event is. BOY WERE THERE SOME CARS. I remember seeing an 8.3 second car (don't remember what it was) and a turboed mustang ran an 8.6... i went out there with my buddy in his black 98 cobra. it was crazy to see his car was slow compared to those beasts. but then again, he raced on streets. on slicks, that's a different story...

Anyway, like i said, i might not be in town by weds to meet up. I got the PM, and it looked like 4 names including mine. so sorry if i don't show up and it's like 3 ppl. but i'll see what i can do.

BTW I went to the Fun FOrd's event on Sat. and saw the 6.62/213mph car during profamnce.

Since the 10th is tomorrow, and we still haven't discussed time, allow me to suggest 8:00 PM as a meeting time at Hooters. I will be bringing at least one modded Miata with me, maybe more.

How about everyone who is going sounds off so I have an idea how many will show?

I'll be in town until the 19th, with a short cruise in the middle.

I'll hopefully be making the move back for good in 3 months time.

Heya, I'm one of the Miata guys Tony was talkin' about earlier. I wanted to check up on this to see if this meet's happenin' tonight cause the rest of the ol' Roadster crew's curious.

We're pretty much plannin' to hang out at Hooter's at 8:00-8:30 tonight.

Yeah, thanks for coming out, Japan8, it was a good time.

The rest of you RX-8 owners here in Orlando, you guys need to come out and represent!! Our Mazda club has been getting together on either Monday night or Sunday afternoon every week for about the last 2 years. I'll post the when and where here in this thread. I'd like to not be the ONLY RX-8 there next week. :D
