NC mazda mechanics in raleigh

im having some power steering issues and im looking for some advice on who to take my 04 rx8 to for the work, the only places i know of right now are dealerships, and though thhe work will be good they also chage you ou the a$$. does anyone know of a good mazda mechanic in the raleigh\smithhfield\selma area, i can also get to garner\clayton area with litte problems, but with the power steering going i would rather not drive very far.

95% of power steering issues cost $0 to fix yourself. Even if you take the 8 to a mechanic, Mazda or otherwise, you will have to tell them what is wrong, as well as how to fix it. Otherwise you are going to be paying with your own body parts. ($2,000 for a steering rack, $1,200-$1,700 for the control module, etc...).


Do some power steering searches through Google (site:rx8club.com power steering) and you will quickly find the common issues and solutions. It's usually just a contaminated connector that can be cleaned.
