Anyone in Jacksonville, FL?

I just got my 8 last week. I've only seen 2 on the roads here... ever. One was lightning yellow headed East on 10 during am rush hour. That's when I decided I had to have one (but not in yellow - not my style). An asian gentleman was at the wheel and smiled at me when he saw me checking the car out. The other was sunlight silver (same as mine) headed South on Hendricks away from Amelia Island - probably around Little Talbot. This time I was drivng my newly purchased 8. I didn't get a good look at this guy as I was headed North, but I did see him acknowledge me. It's kind of neat feeling this sort of bond with other owners.

congrats on getting your 8! i've met at least a couple of 8 owners at the rotary get-togethers over there in jax..everybody's very friendly at those cookouts..one of the jax owners was even giving people rides ...

You may see my wife in the Velocity Red M/T GT with apperance package and front splash guards tooling around the Beaches/PV area. The 4 year old is usually in tow, but can't be seen due to the LLumar tint

The '04 Odyssey is suddenly getting a lot less usage and the DVD player in the van which was so cherished by our little one has suddenly become an afterthought.......

Welcome to the club and congrats on getting your new 8! There are a few 8's (some club members here in Jax). If you see mine, you'll know it. :D


We have an RX-8 Club of Florida which is currently nothing more than an email list. Soon we'll get all the 8 owners together for a cup of cawffee and to decide what we want to do. There's also a place to show pictures of your 8 and pictures of meets.

What dealership did you buy your 8 at?

I bought it at Tom Bush after test driving one at Mazda City - I was unimpressed with the staff at Mazda City. Our salesman at Tom Bush was Rob D'Augustinas (or something like that). I can't say I ws thrilled with him either. He came off a little too slick, but my husband had spoken to him previously so we bought from him.

Anyway, I would love to know when ya'll are planning to meet up. I'll keep an eye on the boards. My 8 is nothing fancy, just the base model, but I would love to see everyone else's.

I'm not sure how far you are from St. Aug, but if you need any "non-warranty" (i.e. modifications) related work, you best bet is to call Phillip Johnson at Parker Mazda Service.

He will "work" with you and provides superior service.

Tom Bush service is a "factory" compared to how you'd be treated down here in sleepy St. Aug.

There are two more of us on the southside, we are actually roommates. So if you are ever on this side of town you might see a Winning Blue or a Titanium around here. What side of town are you on?

You have to check out the TAIL OF THE DRAGON meet that is going on in a couple weeks its going to be incrediable!!!!
