IL 2005 rx8 gt

Year: 2005

Mileage: 55000
Color: Titanium Grey
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing

It is time to let my RX8 go. I have had an absolute blast with this car for the past five years, but I no longer need the compromise of four doors and four seats. It's time for a new adventure.

This is a 2005 Grand Touring model. It has every option (heated leather seats, sunroof, self-leveling HID headlights, etc) except for navigation. I bought the car five and a half years ago with 25k miles on it, and it has under 55k on it now. So I haven't exactly piled the miles on. The engine has under 15k on it, and is a real good one. No misfiring, always starts.

While I'm no polisher, this car has been maintained. Since I autocrossed it for a few seasons and then took it to the track, I made sure it was in good running shape at all times. That said, it has one mechanical fault. 4th gear sometimes clunks or grinds a bit at high RPMs. It doesn't happen around town because I have to be doing illegal speeds. It doesn't always do it and I don't know why it does. I've been told Mazda's clutch is too flexible and that the pedal itself is too weak. In case it is the transmission itself and failed, I bought a used spare and it will go with the car.

The car comes with a separate set of 17x7 alloy wheels with Blizzak snow tires. These tires have only a few thousand miles on them and the wheels have TPMS sensors installed.

I'm not really driving the car lately, so it'll just sit in my garage, waiting for somebody to claim it. Asking price is $9,995.

The car is still in my garage, but now it's on stands with the transmission removed so I can put in the spare. In that state, it's not really fair to say it's still for sale, you know? So let's call it no longer for sale.

I will probably try to sell it again in the Spring.

Thanks for everybody who showed interest, and I wish you good luck finding the right car!
