I am about to head to Afghanistan and ready to part with my baby. No mods, no wrecks and no problems. Powertrain warranty (8 year, 100k) still in effect from Mazda until its 8th birthday (July 2013). Car has been garaged and most miles are driving to military drill every month. I have driven RX-8s for over 7 years and have yet to have an issue...warm motor properly, don't load the engine until warm, never shut off before reaching operating temp. I have about two more weeks until I leave, so I wanted to additionally say I put a new battery in the car last summer, tires are 80% or more and upgraded entertainment system (professionally installed) with bluetooth and USB connection (original system and face, unmolested, is in the trunk and comes w the car). I had door edge protectors put on the vehicle by Mazda. I would be willing to negotiate driving the car to you. I have a brother in Chicago area, so that location would also be convenient.
