I have a Sunlight Silver 2004 RX-8 GT with a 2009 6-speed transmission with less that 20K miles on it. I do believe the engine lost an apex seal. It still runs but is hard to start and has a rough idle. I have a 2009 mostly disassembled RX-8 that I will through in if you purchase for $9000 total for both. Some of the key parts with the 2009 are the engine, rear end and assembly and more. The 2009 parts have 16K miles. The transmission was already installed in the 2004. The 2004 is in pretty good condition with leather heated seats with no tears, sun roof, Bose sound system, tinted windows and more. I'm not sure if the 2009 short block will go into the 2004 but it would be great if it does since it has a better oiling system.
