Which paint color chips the most?

My brilliant black chips easily on plastic painted surfaces, like the bumper and my appearance package add-ons.

I have black also but haven't noticed it chipping any easier than any other color. As a matter of fact, I only have one chip on the lower front and it was easily fixed with touch-up paint. Can't even see it now.

I dont think that one color really chips easyer than the others, it just shows up more on some colors, when my silver chips, it leaves black dots....so its a big contrast.

Fricking got dinged today... all week i didn't drive my 8 out to work cuz i was exactly afraid of this happening... all week nobody parked next to me in this huge lot...

but yes... their are inconsiderate retards out there who for some reason want to park next to you.. and carelessly just fling their doors wide open..... what the hell... what is wrong with people...

i spend a lot of effort trying to keep my car new.. and they just go jack it up without a thought... there should be some laws about this... i was so pissed today i couldn't drive..

i just sat in my car while it was warming up...

when do they do that? can i polish it out or anything?

I know I have a lot of chips in mine, but then there has been a ton of crap on the roads these past two years thanks to the hurricanes. All my chips and scratches show up really nicely on my black paint

This will be my last black car, should have learned my lesson with the last one.

I've owned 4 Mazda's 2-626's, 1 Millenia, and 1 RX8. The only one with good paint is the Millenia, a deep maroon color but I don't think it is the color I think they use inferior quality paint on most Mazda cars. I also have a Volvo and that has good paint like the Millenia

The thin paint is in keeping with Mazda's light weight program for the RX-8.

My Black Cheery scratches pretty bad - every time you touch it it seems like there is another white line.
Sme problem here with inconsiderate "neighbors". Park it anywhere and new scratches are sure to be added to this sorry collection.

I got about 10 chips on my silvers hood(small ones) and it always seems like 2 are grouped together. I took it to a body shop to get a quote on them completly fixing the chips and touching up the chips then fixing the clear coat so it looks like it was never there and they quoted me frickin 250(this is for like 4 chips and a small amount of damage on the lower left portion of the hood. That just seemed insane to me. Anyways, now I have about six new ones in the hood and the passenger side of my bumper is covered about 50 of them including one very deep scratch that almost went through the bumper... almost like somone took a knife to it. Also my aero flares are completly torn up on the end of them(shoulda gotten the mud guard things.)

But I just see a lot of this as an excuse to get the MS front bumper and skirts. Too bad an authentic set of those will cost you frickin 2 grand. I tried touching up some of my own chips with a toothpick and Langka's paint chip set but all it did was add a shade of silver over the chip, its still visible. Maybe if I could get the body shop to use that or see if they have any good experiance on using it so it wouldn't cost me around 400 bucks to fix.(doubtful). I also have about 5 small chips in my window that I noticed after a day of high speed. Was cleaning the windows for like 30 minutes before I realized I was trying to get out a chip with a cloth.

Sounds like you need to get it repainted, and CLEAR BRA'ED very badly.

Definately get a clear bra, it will save you tons of headache.

The chips on yellow really stand out because the underlying primer is BLACK!? WTH? Those guys are breathing too many fumes.

all chips the same amount.. but it depends if its a dark tone or a light tone.. light colors hide the defects while dark colors HIGHLIGHTs the defects...
