Obsessing over the details
I've got a couple cosmetic annoyances that I'd like to remedy if anyone has any ideas.
1. I've had many cars that about 20k-30k mi the leather on the steering wheel and shifter become 'glazed'. That is they become shiny and sticky. Normally this is the time I start getting itchy for a trade in so I've never tried to remedy this. Is there a way to rejuvenate these leather pieces? I know how to treat and care for the rest of the leather, but these skin to leather contact places seem to be overly stubborn.
2. The plastic covering the gauges have some fog to them. It looks like a chemical that isn't friendly to clear plastic was used to clean. Is there a way to clarify this kind of plastic?
Thanks

Some progress has been made on this front.
#1 was solved very easy using the "magic eraser" http://www.impee.co.uk/shiny_steeringwheel.htm
#2 the Plastix did not help on the clear plastic on the gauges.
