leather cleaning

i bought the two leather cleaner products from Zaino (Z9 & Z10). It's recommended to use a soft brush to rub in the Z9. i'm a little worried that this will damage the leather. any advice on the process for this?
second, is a 100% standard cotton towel good for Z10?
