interior clean - smudges

problem is. I've tried a few interior/dash cleaners and they look great. but if I ever touch or rub the dash it wears off and theres a dull spot. this mainly happens on the elbow rest on the door, and on the middle console.

I've tried armour all protectant (wipes and spray stuff) and I've used 303 aerospace but they all do the same thing.

Is there any product that wont dull if it's touched

You'll have to first make sure the interior is completely clean of all old protectant and such before applying a new one. Unfortunately, I don't think there are any that will not really dull due to the cheap material our interior is made out of. I detailed the interior of my dad's BMW 530i a month ago, by first cleaning it, then applying 303, and it looked great! Even better than when I do the same on my 8. His didn't smudge since the interior is made of a softer type of plastic or something. The only recommendation I would have would be finding a very matte shine protectant. Maybe Meg's QID? Then be very careful when touching everything, and make sure your hands are clean. That's pretty much the only way I can get away with limited to no smudges.

i would go the other way.. as has been hinted at. clean off everything completely. use a good degreaser/cleaner before putting anything on top of it.

Clean it up before applying new stuff otherwise the same problem will keep happening. Had this issue before and still dont know what caused it.

^^^ It's caused by build up of protectants. A degreaser each time before new protectant is applied, will fix this.
