Decibel Levels - HKS Hi Power Exhaust

I have installed a Turbo XS header and BHR resonated midpipe and was looking to add the HKS hi power single exhaust to the car, but I'm concerned about decibel level requirements at local tracks.

Does anyone have a similar setup and have you ever had a track come to you to say you are exceeding sound levels?

I used to have the HKS Hi-power with the BHR midpipe when I was NA, and I loved it. It's not quiet but it is no where near as loud as my buddies NA RX-8 with the TurboXS header, midpipe, and catback was. His car was f%^cking loud. I am boosted now and have the TurboXS catback and BHR midpipe and it sounds great. But a turbo muffles the sound a bit.

My other buddy, Shadycrew31 had the HKS hipower NA and Turbo with the Racing beat midpipe and it sounded great, but a bit louder when he was NA obviously.

Youtube videos are hard to judge by, they always sound different in person.

My old HKS hipower when I had the SR motorsports non resonated 2.5" midpipe.

My TurboXS on the dyno, keep in mind the garage probably makes it sound louder due to the echo.

Yeah, the youtube video's are always so hard to tell how loud an exhaust is.

I'd like to see if anyone can chime in to see if they ever had a track tell them the car was too loud.

Through some research I've found the sound limits for my closest tracks

NJMP: 93 decibels
Pocono: 103 decibels
Summit Point: 103 decibels
Watkins Glen: 99 decibels

I just want to make sure using this setup that I can run these tracks without issue

My guess is that at WOT it would exceed 100db. PM, a member named Paimon, he has a single sided and had to install a silencer to get complaint for autox. He has a thread about it here, let me find it.

Thanks - I'm thinking I'll go this route & see if I get any complaints at the track - If so I'll look into the "baffles"

The car is rarely driven on the street, mostly to the track & back, so I'm not really concerned about attracting a lot of police attention

Hey, I actually have this setup on my Rx8 and I have not gotten any complaints yet at Summit Point, NJMP, and I was at V.I.R no issue. But I've been told that Limerock is strict with noise and I have yet to go to Poconos and glen so I can't help you with those tracks.

my youtube videos are all running the HKS hi-power with racing beat dual res midpipe. sounds glorious @ WOT, but also tame enough to cruise 8 hours on the highway.

My exhaust has no cat, no resonator and just a single straight-through Vibrant muffler. It does, however, have a turn down under the trunk floor.

I do not break the very restrictive sound limit at NCM Motorsports Park. If I don't, I can't imagine any aftermarket street exhaust being a problem.
