I have a complete, new, never-been-installed rear rotor-shaped fog lamp kit that was originally manufactured by Derwankel (see the thread for an old group-buy of his items here). I was given this as a gift, but before I could install it I sold the car. It fits inside the rotor-shaped outline below the rear bumper on the first-generation series-I RX-8s. The installation requires minor cutting and wiring, but very detailed and clear instructions and templates are included. Although the lens looks dark in the pic, it is clear red, not smoked red.

NOTE: My car did NOT have the silver-toned rear rotor accent, and this light lens is designed for cars that do NOT have the silver rotor accent. If you have that accent ring around the rotor-shaped opening, this lens will NOT fit your car.

The rotor accent is held on with 3m tape, so. You could just remove it and it would fit fine.
