Up for sale is a GROM IPD3 iPod adapter I bought for my series 1 Rx8. I opened the packaging, but never used it because I broke my OEM headunit and have since gone aftermarket, so I have no use for this unit. Hoping to sell for $70 shipped, but I'll be taking offers if no one bites so I can sell this. Thanks.

I run one of these with their bluetooth dongle if anyone has any questions. It's a decent product once you get the latest firmware installed.
Oh, it's not just for iPods. I run mine with ICS and Honeycomb Androids with no problems.

Microsd in its "hidden" slot.... boot up with the new firmware file and you're done. Their site steps you thru it.

hmm... just reread your post... are you referring to your head unit or the grom? Head unit is not upgradable... mazdaparts used to it but that's been years and was a major PITA.
If your HU is 9.55 you're good to go. There's a thread on the forum for how to identify which firmware is on your HU.... just a matter of a little bit of searching.

^^Not unless you get the cable that allows you to do so from GROM. They got cheap by not including this in their newer adapters. It's $30 extra, which is why I never bought it, although it was nice on my original grom unit I had before.
im interested...if i could sell my OEM ipod adapter i will get this.
dont hold the sale for me though

I am interested. So lemme get this straight, this won't work with the steering wheel buttons, and it doesn't have the bluetooth dongle with it? it does have the USB and the AUX port though right?

Hey does it matter what format the SD card is (FAT, FAT32, NTFS, etc)? I tried to do the update and it maybe worked, but I never noticed the flashing, just the solid light. Tried it again and it just stayed solid when I plugged the cable in.

Pretty sure it needs to be FAT. FAT32 might work. Also the .bin file has to have a specific name. Follow the GROM procedure and it should work.
