Just decided to stick with the cloth.
They re upholster the cloth seats

i have the black/red seats in my 2004 RX-8 but i don't like how the seat back covers are a big piece of plastic. i like the way the cloth seats look. i want to know if i just take off the seat backs and put new leather on will i run into any complications.
Bump for a sweet deal. Classic Soft Trim makes nice covers, much better than stock. Mine are 5 years old, have some wear on the side bolsters from entry and exit, but are otherwise have held up well. This is a great price for the covers. Strangely, the company website seems to be gone.
The backs & fronts are 1 piece. I don't know how you'd just replace the backs other than sewing a replacement together.
