Ok, I got my hands on a brand new Series 2 motor (2009 and up RX8) that was plucked fresh from the factory assembly line and put aside for the Mazda Star racing series. This is NOT a rebuild - it's the same motor that would come in a brand new RX8. It's spotless and new - never even removed from the crate. The "short block motor" is a complete motor but with no accessories other than the water pump. The "pumpkin" as some might say. All housings, rotors, plates, oil pan, front cover, etc

I had planned to use this to replace the damaged motor in my 2005 RX-8 race car. However, it's just a ton of work to swap in this motor because Mazda made a TON of little changes on this motor.

I can return this to Mazda Motorsports but it's a real pain so I figured I'd see if anyone here wants it first. I'm asking $6200 plus shipping. The dealer would charge you MUCH more for this and it's hard to find. Only a few of these are released each year and are intended for the Mazda STAR racing series.

I am NOT negotiable on price as I can return this and get $6200. HOWEVER, if someone is willing to pick this up in San Diego, CA I might take off a couple hundred bucks.

If I have no takers by Monday I'll begin the return process.
