Custom BHR Resonated Midpipe with HJS High Flow Cat -- STX Legal

Custom BHR Resonated midpipe with HJS Motorsport 100 CPI high flow cat. SCCA STX legal. I had this midpipe built specially for reliability, longevity and maximum power gains for auto-x. It is possibly the nicest catted midpipe one could find for an RX-8.

This is a genuine BHR midpipe that I ordered new from BHR. I had the HJS cat welded in to replace the Davesport cat the BHR midpipe originally came with. BHR does not recommend the cat that comes with their midpipe for track/auto-x and sure enough, mine ended up melting in a few auto-x events, so it was definitely not suited for that kind of use. I purchased the HJS cat and had it tig-welded to take care of that issue. While HJS products are prohibitively expensive, they can withstand the heat of the Renesis if you must run a catted setup. The HJS has been on for 14K miles and is in great shape. The BHR resonator has also been perfect. Very quiet and no issues with the glass packing like other cheaper resonators.

The midpipe has OEM-like fitment, as expected from BHR. Weighs in at a mere 11lbs, or just about half of the stock midpipe weight.

You can read more about the BHR midpipe here and HJS catalysts here.

Can you ship? (Pref to Canada, but I might have a US contact.)
Does the O2 sensor stay with the pipe?

Yes, I'd be happy to ship to a US address. O2 is yours to keep.

I have very rarely gotten a P0420 with it. Less than a handful of times over the 14K miles I've had the cat for, and it always cleared itself after a few drive cycles. HJS did warn me that I would have a CEL due to the high flow nature of the cat, but it didn't turn out to be that bad.

Before I bought the BHR midpipe that had the original Davesport cat, I was talking to others with the same Davesport setup and was told they got a CEL on occasion. I just assumed that that would be the case with any high flow cat. If you're concerned and have a Cobb, you can have emissions-related codes turned off.

Good luck with the sale, Teddie. I have 3 1/2 seasons of autocross and 20k miles on my HJS cat (I believe possibly the same model) and it still looks brand new inside. This is a bargain at this price.

Thanks Dave! Yes, this midpipe cost me well into the 4 figures after all was said and done, but the HJS is totally worth every penny and something I wish I had done from the get-go.
