Is this the way the Renesis sounds?

There is a shift lever you can move on this Japanese page. I believe there is something similar on Mazda USA's site.

http://www.rx-8.mazda.co.jp/gallery/movie.html

It makes an engine sound when you move it. Sounds awesome, like a blender with a bit of an energetic snarl. Is this the way the Renesis really sounds? If it is, I am psyched! Anyone know for sure?

Didn't see it from the link. Could you copy and paste the editorial for us?

From the November 2002 issue, check out his expectation for RX-8. otherwise his comment of RX-7 is here . Also see his comment on 350Z , which is a good value but not great afterall.

Angry RE:Washing machine sounding

Hey Net.Metro, the editorial also was quoted as saying
"thanks to the switch to side intake and exhaust ports which increase intake area by 30%"
This reviewer obviously does not know his facts as ALL production rotary engines have always had side port intakes.
It is the Exhaust ports that have been changed to the side port from peripheral port. Do you still want to put any credibility in his review?

Perhaps not for rotor, from his knowledge base , it does not seems to include rotor, but his comment on the rest of RX-8 underpinning still sound reasonable for me.

it's true that the inspiration ports have always been located in the side rotor housing, but in the RENESIS they've been relocated, allowing for a very large (30 or 40% or something, as he highlighted) increase in area over the last spec 13BREW's inspiration ports.

Did you notice any ingrained stains and general scruffiness about these people... they've obviously can't be washing their clothes if their washing machine sounds like that....
