Talking Video Review of a 2005 RX-8

I bought my 2005 RX-8 in September of 2011, so I'm approaching 2 years of ownership, and I've loved every moment of it! I couldn't afford it back in 2004 when it first came out, so as silly as this may sound to some, this really was my first dream car (I'm saving up for an Atom 300) and I absolutely adore it.

Naturally, being an aspiring filmmaker and a professional photographer, I had to shine the spotlight on it somehow, so I decided to make a little video review of it. I really thought it would be a simpler project than it turned out to be, but here are the results (be sure to watch it in HD!!):

Hope you enjoy it!

I really enjoyed your video. Well done. And for 2004 - 15-18 MPG for a 200+ hp engine isn't really that bad for a serious performance car.

Thank you!! And you're absolutely right, but I kinda wanted to emphasize the silliness and what we "put up with".

It was the easiest way to convey the idea across without getting into how the rotary works... After I finished it and started putting the clips together, that was something I wished I had done differently. I described the engine too briefly, and short of someone's curiosity being sparked and researching "Wankel Rotary engine" for themselves, I doubt they'll have learned much about why the RX-8 has such a special engine...

awsome video. no really AWSOME video. it really captured what is like to drive an 8 BUT my only quarrel is you didnt mention the adaptive electronic power steering which is a big part of why it feels the way that it does

ps: is there some other place where I can post videos? I thought this was it... I didn't see an area dedicated exclusively to videos.

didn't make it the entire way through, but i can tell you spent a lot of time putting this together well.

"if this car doesn't put a smile on your face; something is wrong with your face!"

Great video! Your comment at the end of the video about smiling everytime you approach is exactly how I still feel to this day.

I will never get rid of my 8

Ditto! Slow work day and nice weather outside, I keep looking outside at my car wanting to drive it. At least this gave me some reprieve!
