I wonder if the Aero kit will be an option like it is on the Mazda6.

Spoiler and Fuel Cap

Yeah, they could have done better with the spoiler, I mean look at the X-men RX-8, thats a hot one. And the fuel cap, thats hot as well. When I get my RX-8, I want one of those fuel caps

I think that the rear deck is too short to really have a spoiler on the rear. The look I enjoyed was just a simple lip on the trunklid. Just enough of an edge.

Amen! Looks like a typical "ricer" spoiler.

This one looks fine

Thumbs up Style in Person

I think this car just looks badass in person. Sure it's photogenic, but it's just wicked to stand next to, nevertheless to drive it I agree with the wing on the X-Car...... RICEEEEEEEE!!!

maybe a lip spoiler on the trunk edge would be perfect, subtle yet functional :D

Anyone else buried in snow?

Too bad I live in one of the places that has crappy winters and where the roads fall apart. I'd be worried to own one of these bad boys during this time of year :p

Got lots of snow in South Central PA as well. Expecting up to 24 inches by Monday night. I was going to sell my '00 Civic to help out with with down payment for the 8, but have decided to try and keep it. I hate the thought of driving my few month old RX-8 in this type of weather.

On a positive note, it will make for some great skiing this week. It's been terrible conditons at the local slopes so far this year.

In keeping with the subject of this thread, I like the spoiler. Will this be a dealer or port installed accessory?? How much?????

questions about show goers

Hi, Wondering if you could assess the reaction ofthe crowd at the Pittsburgh auto show? In your pics they look rather casual towards it especially for a new car with so much innovation and so anticipated by so many of us. I'd liked to have gone but I too am snowed in with about 14" so far today. Can anyone comment on the fuel filler door shown on the black at the show - standard feature or option or just a Mazda-added experiment on some of the hand-built units they've put out?

Answers about shoe goers

The people there seemed very interested and enthusiastic regarding the RX-8..... I happened to take some pictures when not a lot of people were around. Don't worry, everyone who approached the display was floored.....

They didn't heed the sign about keeping off the display, huh? How many RPM for that turntable to reach the red line (rope)? :D

Yeah, the platform was moving so fast people got knocked over. Well, that or the intense effect of the car itself. You make the call!

HEY RX8Daniel

About that fule cap. I would say that is just something that mazda expeirmented. It would be cool to get that as optional.

There is an option for a cap like that on the Mazda 6. Choice of chrome or satin finish for $100 American. Since it has been reported that there is still a list of options to be finalized and released in March, the fuel cap could be on it.
