New HKS Hi Power Single Out Exhaust Installed!

Hey guys, thought I'd post pics up of the finished install of my new HKS Hi Power Single Out Catback. Really good build quality. I'm mainly posting it because of the lack of any quality photos that you can find online for the finished product. Takes some getting used to when looking at it from behind but this thing is rowdy. I've had it for a day now and when I open up it follows suit. I also like how the tip on it is adjustable on how long you want it to be. I extended mine fully but it still doesn't go past the further point on the rear bumper. I mainly chose to do so to avoid any head vs plastic issues. I also want this thing to be seen!I used to have a Borla and while it was a good exhaust, for the money I would've definitely chosen HKS. I love it! I wish I would have gotten it awhile back now but the lack of quality installed pics was pretty much what held me back. I picked mine up off Assaultech where they gave me an awesome price. Would recommend dealing with them to anyone. Enough of me babbling on, PICS!

yeah i never understood the single exhaust on an rx8, unless it's a racerar that much weight isn't really being saved.

Its cheap compared to anything else and sounds awsome!
You could mesh the other side if you wanted.

Its not loud at idle just going up hills or when you going for it and thats with no cat.

I got the same one

Try and get the angle mesh and it will look like the rest of the back.

My Point exactly, I'll probably look into meshing the other side but I love the way it looks/sounds atm. Can't go wrong with the price.

I just wished it was a dual setup because the single hks is one of the best sounding ones out there

I LOVE single exit exhausts on cars that are factory "dual". The idea of the dual exhaust seems a bit asinine; the idea of a faux dual exhaust, such as nearly every system made for the 8, just seems as though its putting up a front. We have a single exhaust pipe leading out of the manifold, splitting it into 2 is purely aesthetic. For me, the single exit says something about the owner and can change the aura of the car - clearly performance is key in the mind. I feel the same way with FC, s2000, and any other similar dual exhaust cars. True dual exhausts are badass but dual tip, single pipe, just seems fake, which it is.

That said, I sold my single exit and ended up with a dual - I do miss the single though.

imo - Don't mess with mesh, enjoy it for what it is!

i know what you mean tilt..

i got rid of mine and i miss it...the sound of the hks is amazing! i think its the best of both worlds...
it has a nice deep bellow downlow, but when you get on it, thats when it really shines!

enjoy the exhaust, especially when you break it in, the tip will change colors.
its a quality exhaust!

i did a pseudo one on the right, too! i also ran it down and cut the pipe before it could be seen and kept both tips looking well. The guy at the shop didn't get it either. Trust me that tip is going to look like shyte pretty soon my friend. Try running it at 1600 F and see what happens (turboed).

Don't mesh the right side hole. leave it as it is. Also check the left side exhaust shroud. you may have a hole burned through it from the exhaust gases escaping the oval hole that allows you to adjust the tip lenght.

its a great exhaust for the money and sounds Damned Sexy!
sounds better with a turbo in front of it......
