just installed remin exterior trim kit
Hey guys I recently ordered the remin exterior trim kit in the "real carbon fiber" trim from carid.com. However they do come with a bunch of different options. I couldn't find any reviews of this product so I made my own. It cost about $70 and came with about 9 pieces. It came with the gas cap, door handles (2 pieces per handle), door pillars, and this side corner lights thing (not sure how to explain it haha). I attached pics so you guys can see for yourselves. Also I attached a side-by-side of a carbon fiber vinyl and the remin pieces.
These pieces have this glossy clear coat which makes it feel very smooth vs. the vinyl. I'm not a carbon fiber expert but the remin pieces definitely look very different than the vinyl in the way it looks, as in the way its patterned. Also the door handle pieces didn't fit on the car, so i only used 1 piece. The pieces are also very thick.
Overall I'm not really convinced about keeping these on my car for long. Personally I like the look of the vinyl more so i will probably end up taking the remin pieces off and vinyl wrap those pieces.
That's just my opinion, what do you guys think?

Much Crazy. Such Wow!
Oh Scott, how endearing you are..
It looks decent for being a wrap job. If you look closely, you'll notice that's actually a backhanded compliment. Why use fake when the real thing is just a few clicks away? Not saying that will save you from disparaging comments from the likes of Scott and his SARX cronies, but at least its not being a big fat phony!
Idk why you'd wanna have carbon in those places to begin with, but at least use the real deal and don't be a poser...

I just posted this for the sake of others if they wanted to buy the same product.
And it's the internet, stuff people say doesn't really affect me.

It never hurts to try! Unless you cut yourself whilst cutting the vinyl D=>
Thanks for posting the pics, tho. It's always good to see people trying new things, mixing it up a bit without being scared of what people are going to say about them.
