Initial D RX7s
Started watching Initial D today and noticed that two rx7s make an appearance in the intro (and probably in the series, although i have not watched it yet). These guys have taste. Sorry the screenies are a little blurry.. theyre moving so fast even the animators cant keep up with them. :D Now lets see if we can get some 8s in there!

if your not 1st your last
imagine if they had a tv cartoon here in the states
i remember watching a episode and in the background they had silvia's,supra,300zx
passing in the background like nothing.
but i dont think theres a chance of a rx8 being in a episode anytime soon.
all old episodes now.

Did some research on Initial D...
- The first stage aired in Japan in 98. 41 episodes. Entire series can be bought on dvd in the US. Box set coming in november.
- There is a battle stage which is all the races from stage one, packed into one movie. Not available in the US.
- The second stage aired in 99. 13 episodes. Not available in the US.
- An extra stage was released on video. Not available in the US.
- The third stage was a movie released in 2001. Not available in the US.
- The fourth stage is current. Will be 14 episodes of which 6 have been shown. Currently being subbed by a few groups.
Those shots were taken from the first episode of the 4th stage which started airing in Japan in April. If you want, I can tell you where to get the subbed versions (if you dont mind reading as you watch and using bittorrent). I would suspect that with the eruption of street racing in america, we will see the not realsed ones released sometime soon.

Initial D has a huge underground following in the US and around the world. I've seen the entire series except for 4th stage. The manga (comic books) actually started back in '95 and new books (that go beyond the TV anime series) are still being created today.
The RX-7s have a major supporting role throughout the series, and are driven by the Rotary Brothers Ryosuke and Keisuke Takahashi. The main character, Takumi, will eventually join Ryosuke's dream team "Project D".

If you download bittorrent, this is a portal that has all the Initial D 4th Stage eps subbed so far...
Its a great series...
The RX-7 in this series pumps out 450 bhp the yellow 3rd gen one, and its just amazing to watch the series... I love the story and got the entire series and specials on bootleg dvd already...
Honestly, the US release is really dumb, b/c they alter the story, replace the europop music and just destroy the series
You can pick up the entire set bootleg from hong kong for $70 if you want on ebays... that's
26 1st Stage Eps...
13 2nd Stage Eps...
3rd Stage Movie...
Impact Blue OVA
Battle Stage
I don't own an 8 yet, still deciding on what I want to do, and waiting to hit 25 for the insurance to go down, I'm hoping they come out with a 2 door coupe to the 8, then I'll probably decide on it...
Initial D basically makes the RX-7 into a super powerful 'elite' car... which sparked my interest in it to begin with...
The Skyline, Integra, RX-7, Civic, WRX, S13, and a bunch of Asian rice cars make appearances against an 1986 Toyota ...

The strange thing about the series is that it was first introduced in the mid '90's, so the original cars were of that era and even some from the '80's like the 86 and FC. However in later years, newer cars also started to show up in the manga, like the BNR34 GT-R, but the characters have only aged about a year.
Although the RX-8 is in the Arcade video game (ver. 3), I doubt it will make into the series. Unless the author decides to introduce a younger brother to the Takahashi family, then it follows that he should drive an RX-8.

Found these on an Initial D anime message board. Looks like the live action is in production. Lets only hope it turns out better than some of the cheesy american movies adopted from tv series'.
