Fun with HP reading on DashCommand
Had som fun with DashCommand.
It showed up to 327 HP.
Of course I know the reading is just ridiculous! My car is stock, expect for RB catback.
But fun to just point to the screen and let my friends say "Wow".
And then I tell them its not real, and they'll be like "oh.."
Its fun seeing the numbers go up and down, makes it more interesting to drive

I've tried to insert as much data as I could.
But I know there's something wrong with my gear ratio numbers.
Do you have the hi power version? If so, what did you enter?

I have the weight, tire, and some air efficiency/drag(? Not sure what it's called Right now) and some other data.
No,shift indicator does not work properly. I found the gear ratio numbers here on the forum. But after I inserted them and saved them, it zero out most of what I just put in.
Yeah, I'm interested

Are you talking about the scrolling shift /gear page or just a straight shift indicator? A regular shift indicator would only need to have rpm data.
Second are you auto or MT?
There are different gear ratios for different year cars (and maybe different countries but I'm not really sure about that)

On the engine screen I have to change one of the gauges for the coolant temp to start reporting for some reason.
Also if anyone isn't aware, most of the gauges can be changed to different values by touching them.

If you are getting the correct speed and rpm data from your odb2 reader than you just don't have the ratios and wheel/tire date imputed correctly. It doesn't actually receive any data from your transmission it uses the speed and rpm compared to your gear ratios to figure out what gear you are in. A couple more things....

Yes, I'm getting correct speed and RPM data,. I'm input the data for the wheel and tire like this because is staggered wheels: 245/35/19
It's a MT, I remember before update the dashcommand (when the config can't be saved) it's working. Both, shift marker as a number and diagram shifter. But now not anymore for both

I'm at work so I don't have this in front of me, what type of variable is it looking for? Or does it even say?
This might be helpful:

Well if it stopped working after you updated the software and you verified that all of the data you entered is still there I would imagine it's some kind of software problem and would try taking it up with Palmer Performance (the software's author)

Might as well jump on this thread since i'm working with the app.
I've tried testing this app and the same thing is happening. It's reading my hp as 298, I WISH. Here is what i've entered for my car. We all know it shouldn't be reading almost 300, so whats the issue? Also posted this on dash command forum to help as well.
Fuel tank: 15 US gal.
Brake specific fuel consumption: .60 lb/(hp*h) changed from .40 to .60
Volumetric efficiency: 94%
Final drive ratios: Axle ratio 4.444, 1st 3.76, 2.269, 1.645, 1.187, 1.000, 0.843
Curb Weight: 3201 lbs.
Drag coefficient: 0.31
EDIT: For those out there I found a thread by MM that should help. BSFC should read at .60 according to him.
