I want to put a deep throaty awseome sounding exhaust on my 8 but don't know which one to get. Can someone please record the sound of there exhaust and post it. If it's not too much trouble.

So that's the exhaust you have? thats the sound i'm looking for. Thank you.. Oh and where did you get your MS Spoiler from that and exhast are my first 2 projects for this car...
so is borla the baddest sounding exhaust for the 8? thats my freakin question. i want an exhaust that really makes the rx sound like is has some *****. but not a freakin sound cannon on most of the stupid honda riceburners.
IMHO, while everyones been raving about the Borla and its nice price tag. I'd have to admit that Borla is a US company and I think it is not a good match for the RX-8. Maybe I'm being bias since my HKS is coming in soon
is it OK to do performace changes(midpipe,exhuast, etc) if you have an AT??

who cares..they all are going to sound pretty much the same. The only time it will sound different is if you had a mid pipe. People have different ears and interpret the tones differently. But we can make an exception for the racing beat and the MS exhaust..
no they don't all sound the same...most yes..but the B&B exhaust sounds like a civic...and add the mid pipe it sounds like a civic on steroids...but I think this combo posts the most gains across the board...and add turbo to it and it should make it sound way better....but for me..i'm going with Racing Beat or Greddy..they have the same low tone I'm looking for and not so bad on the pocket book...

it doesn't pop any more than any other RX-8. It's just that with the stock can, it's hard to hear. Also it doesn't happen much, only when you gas it, then let off the gas allowing the rpms to drop. It's actually very cool
why does it seem like everyone thinks it's cool when the 8 pops? To me it's backfiring, and in any other car where it wasn't "normal", that meant something bad and was embarrassing. It wouldn't stop me from buying an 8, but it would limit my aftermarket exhaust choices.

Go to some drag races or autocross events and listen to the sound of an unmuffled rotary, or one running with Supertrapp or straight pipe out the side. Anyone who is unfamiliar with rotaries will say "it sounds like crap" but, that is the nature of the beast.

yes the pop is cool and if you have the magna flow wide open dual exhuast you also get a nice little flame coming out of both pipes, at least thats what the cop told me lol!
