Believe me, if there was a Nordic Green picture, I'd be pasting it up all over these boards..the closest I've come is the picture from the Mazda website, now in my avatar, and the paint block on the wall at Detroit. And strangely enought the paint block and the picture on Mazda's website seem to be be two different colors. I guess we won't know till some pictures hit from Japan, or even till the cars get here.

It seems like Mazda NEVER gets the colors right on their websites. "Millenium Red" for the Protege (marronish color) ended up looking like pink on their website for a while.

Good- I hope you're right, and the color block on the wall is the actual color- it was very close to the Montego Blue that came on the RX-7 a while back. Really quite pretty.

I saw a new model Mazda coupe today in a color that must be Nordic Green. The car was not a RX-8 but a rather modest family model. The green was very dark much like the sample colors I saw on the forum from Detroit. NOT KELLY GREEN!
I'll be very happy with my choice if the car I saw today represents my RX-8 choice.

So why the secrecy for Nordic Green then ?

Seems odd for not one single picture to be available outside of Mazda website. Every other colour has attended some show or another....

I suspect that these images are a fairly good colour representation. They've been posted before but nevertheless worth another look:

The Nordic Green Mica paint sample that was on display in Detroit was a like a dark British racing green with the mica gold flakes in the paint. Everyone has seen the pics of the Velocity Red Mica where you can see the gold sparkling out from the red paint. The Nordic Green is like this except with dark green base instead of red. It was an awesome color. When I first saw the color my thought was this would be fantastic with the tan inserts on a Jag convertible!

hey lensman, where did you find those? those look like photoshops done by the same person who did this one for me(considering the backround) so even those might not be true representations unless we know the source of the color

I found it on a thead weeks ago but I can't work out which one it was (try searching on 'color' and you'll see the problem). I seem to remember the poster saying it was from a Mazda site and that it was the official Mazda colour chart. It's possible that the person who did your image Zoom44 used my image as a base(?).

Nordict green later??

I believe that on the UK (maybe Canadian?) website it says that green yellow and I think blue will not be available in the early production units. specifically, quoted from the UK website:
"Lightning Yellow, Winning Blue and Nordic Green will not be available at official launch time."

Yea I think I posted the colors for someone who wnated to see all the choices. The pictures are takin straight from the japanese website. the only thing I did to them was added the name and put them all in the same picture. However, the nordic green from the detroit show wall was different. It was a little bluer and had a silverish metalic under light.

That's exactly the way my pictures from Detroit came out- thanks, I thought I was going crazy with everyone talking about gold flecks in it, which I didn't remember. I thought maybe my pictures came out weirdly. Wonder what color it's going to turn out to be...montego-blueish or BRGish? Either one will make me happy.

Yes, but check out the red car in the background. It's not an accurate colour so once again the intense artificial lighting of the show area is throwing off the colour balance. The green will be slightly darker I think.

BTW does anyone know how lensman isolated the pic of the car? you can put the 16" wheels on the car on the site, so if someone knows how, they could post the pics with those wheels.

edit: maybe lensman since he's back online now:o
