Amazing view of a RX8 crash

Hi guys,

I haven't be on the forum for a while. The reason is that I totaled my car and totaled one of my vertebra. Well, it's not exactly true, the vertebra is just broken and I will get better in a few weeks. Totaly different story for the car, the car actually look more like a meetball.

I was crusing with some of my friends on a great backroad near Mont-Tremblant, Canada when I was surprised by a small hill in a curve that I haven't see. I was going too fast for that hill and the car just went airborne with only one wheel still touching the ground. Murphy's law made sure that that wheel was a wheel still pushing the car forward resulting in a very quick turn in the ditch.

the funny thing is that we were filming at that moment. My friend on the Boxster was filming with a standard camera, pointing on my car and I was filming his car with my GoPro camera attached to the driver side of the car.

Here is the link for you're own pleasure. There is nothing gore in it, it's just impresive how fast my car went into the woods.

**** man, that blows. Same thing happened to me awhile ago when I had a prelude except I did a few barrel rolls and landed with my roof on the ground.

I no longer do that without my sticky tires on...

That's an incredible experience. I think I've learned something from it. Even if you are experienced, the road is always full of surprises. Don't take your skill for granted and be cautious. If I would have taken take curve straight, a bit slower and would have hit the brakes to shift the wheigt on the front wheels, I would still be driving that car and my backbone would be in great shape.

Next time, I will keep the speed for the track. I think that when I am with my friend I am more prone to do wreckless things, like most people anyway.
That car was so great, the suspension work that I've done was amazing, but tune for a track not a Canadian backroad.

Many mistakes, many lessons learned. I will be a while without a sport car. But next on my list is the 2009 Cayman S .

Damn man, that's pretty damn scary. That could've turned out sooo much worse. Thank god it turned out the way it did and stayed right side up... glad you're okay bro. I've been in an accident into the woods as well but going way slower. Do you have pictures of the whole aftermath, like the whole car?

Is anything salvageable from the car or is it completely done for?

Again, glad you're okay, sometimes we all just have to learn the hard way... I know I always do..

whoa!!!
it's amazing how quickly things can go terribly wrong at speeds like that and there frankly isn't much you could have done differently once the car went superman on you.
Glad you're okay, kinnda glad you had the GoPro filming as it made for quite a video.

sorry for the loss of your car but the fact that you're still in one piece is what matters most.

That was freakin' intense. Definitely glad you made it out in one piece. Sorry for the loss of your car but that's minimal considering you still have your life.

On another note...any parts that were salvageable that you would like to get rid off? I have a VR too and could use a ms rear bumper
