Well doing some checking on my on-line Mazda United Kingdom EPC, for those 'Spirit R Badges', see my avatar, and to my surprise it shows them listed and ONLY for AUST (Australia Right Hand Drive)...
And at a Production Date of December 01, 2011 (111201)(that is yesterday)!!!..
So it looks like we are getting the Spirit R...

ASH8 so lucky to have it there.. so are you gonna trade yours with those?
NO, it is all bling, the hit ($$$'s) on my 09 would be too much, to do so, I would have to trade in my 5 and 8 at this stage to get the Spirit R....does not make a lot of "cents"...
Plus, I honestly have never been a fan of the R3, hate the side spoilers (they look like a stupid after thought (no offense R3 owners)), and I don't think I could live with the Recaro's (maybe if I was 25 years younger).
So, for me apart from the Bilstein's and the Wheels...it offers nothing more than what I have already got, in many ways it is less.
Spirit R Gold/Bronze Alloys ...here is the OE Part Number..9965-06-8090 19x8 .
It is not listed (price wise, anywhere, yet), I think it would be a special order for anyone wanting them in the USA or Europe (good luck there).
9965-04-8090 19x8 are the 2011 R3 Alloys @ $980.00 each, so I guess the 9965-06-8090 Spirit R's will be more, probably around the $1200.00 each (USD).
BTW: I have been through virtually all of the mechanical parts listed for the 2012 RX-8, including the Spirit R and there is nothing which has been updated, apart from the Spirit R cosmetic changes and the C Coils.
Everything else is the same as R3 and Luxury (AUST), GT, which is still being made and available in RHD.

that sound pricey... anyway thanks for the C coils info, do you think Mazmart will get those update coils?
C Coils...eventually, just remember it has only just happened (that is the only part in ignition system that has altered on 2012 MY ), I would not get too excited about this change.
MNAO will have to sell out of all the B's first, and I would think MMC Parts.
Well this is the email I got back from the CEO of Mazda Australia...Mr Doug Dickson.
Find it very strange, as I have never been let down by MMC (Mazda Europe) on-line EPC.
SR Wheels, Interior Console Side Trims (in Piano Black), Badges are listed which is only for the Spirit R and associated parts shows the same productions date and for AUST (Australia).
So we will see
Dear Ashley – we are not sure where you obtained your information but there is no Spirit R production for Australia.
