Yep, Mazda have tweaked the Spirit R (Show Car) for the Tokyo Auto Salon for 2012.

The 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon will be held at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center in Chiba prefecture from January 13 to 15, 2012.

From Mazda...

Until there is a new rotary engine and a new car that contains that rotary engine, I could care less what else Mazda is showing.

Sadly, I agree, and it turns me off even more that they are turning into another Toyota. Their zoom-zoom moniker is fast becoming a joke.

Be....cause the 8 is finished for the US and Zoom Zoom is a joke?

Every other model Mazda is still being made/sold/replaced.

Perhaps if you qualify Zoom Zoom as horse power a Mazdaspeed 3 may suit you, it has more HP than an 8.

I liked it better with the 19" wheels. 20" seems too bling for the car.

Put a turbo in it, move the fire wall back to create some breathing space, throw some lighter 19's on it, paint it blue...

Recipe for success.

Or put some heavy rims and brakes on an underpowered car to screw the gas mileage up more... Touche Mazda!

This part...doesn't compute.

Besides the color choice an rims, it looks just like my R3.

I like the rims. I like the painted calipers. What doesn't compute about that? I don't deny that those are small revisions; but I am very detail oriented.

In my opinion they must be put 17'' rims on Spirit R and it can be more faster than original r3 but why they put 20'' rims like this R version whats their aim is it show car or Spirit R means Racing soul

Those wheels are over $2000 each and made from magnesium. People saying they are heavy need to slap themselves...

Yes, I rather like the 20" wheel, and as the 19x 8.75 versions weigh a massive 7.4 kilo's (so let's say 8 kilo's tops for the 20") they're obviously way heavier than stock and will certainly slow the car down. Bring on slower driving via heavier wheel, I say.
