I searched and didn't find this on the site, but it may be a repost. It's an article (Top 10 list) at edmunds.com, this one titled "Top 10 Cars to Drive If You Don't Have a Date." The 8 is listed, as follows: "4. Mazda RX-8: 'It's weird, but I've never felt lonely in the RX-8," said our new vehicle reviews editor. Could it be the expert chassis tuning that makes the car feel like an extension of your body? Could it be the free-revving rotary engine and its unique sound? Try one and find out.'"

 

This survey is sort of irrelevant as far as the RX-8 is concerned because no one who has ever owned one has ever not had a date.

 

i was expecting a list of "i'm a loser" cars, but its more of a free time and i enjoy driving cars. also if u had a F430 you probably wouldn't be lonely on a friday night.

 

The RX-8 also has other unique qualities besides having the ability to procure dates for its owner such as:

The RX-8 has two speeds: off and pwn.
When the RX-8 drives it isn't moving forward -- it's moving the Earth backwards.

 

seems like a lot of those would be good date cars, just a little hard to get it on :D

They are good cars if I don't have a date because it's doubtful I would let anyone sit in my car!! LOL I've still been keeping people out of my car. My only passenger has been my mom.

 

so the car is suppose to get us dates? lol.

Ditto that....i don't know what it is, but i become selfish with my RX-8. I don't like people riding with me, i don't even like my wife riding me, i just want to ride solo and soak up all the fun to myself!

God i hope my wife doesn't read these forums......lol

Even though u have an 8, If you saw i cute guy roll up in a 8, you wouldnt want a ride from him?

 

owning a Lancer Evolution = reason why you have no date.

The X looks pretty sharp though, from the photos I've seen online.

 

I'd like to take this opportunity to once again state that when I bought my 8, I was a virgin. A week and a half later, I was not. Need I say more?

 

So, is do all RX-8 come standard with the ability to make women ride you???? ****, all the more reason to buy one.

 

I think the RX8 is on the list because as you add passengers the car gets even slooooower. Riding solo is the only way to have any resemblance of quickness off the line.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that happens with about every car to some extent. There's a lot written about it, actually. I think it's called "physics."

 

Cars like the RX8 with little low-end torque are more adversely effected......but you're right, every car is affected to some extent.
