Wrong VIN Number

I checked my billing statement and the VIN number is different from the one on the car. Its only one digit off. What should I do?

Call Mazda North America and explain what's going on.

Then go back to the dealership.

Your billing statement? If so, then you're leasing?

Not a panic - I'm sure the VIN got fat-fingered upon input into the leasing computer. Just call the dealer and the finance co to straighten out.

I have a similar problem. I know they have my VIN correct in their system (I checked this after seeing this post). But when I had the M flash, the maintenance report said "RX8 AT" instead of "MT". It should be pretty obvious to the mechanic which s/he's working on the car, but will this effect recall (or any other) notices?
