Almost nobody has every ridden in an 6speed auto, but knows EVERYTHING ABOUT HOW BAD IT IS.

It's smooth as silk with the rotary, HOLDS GEAR WHILE IN CORNER ready for power again, and shifts faster than any human can think because it knows the loads that the driver can't actually feel.

Trans was faulty when new, but the one I got free at 23k miles seems like a winner. I never have to hear clutch throwout bearing howl or gear grind. It's all I need on the street and have run it many times on track. who cares if a bla ... bla... bla... type car can beat it. I already own a BMW X1 s28i which might even be faster than stock RX8 manual.

it may shift faster but its still a slower vehicle with less driver input. that is a fact not my opinion

If it was a rolling start and both cars shifted at 8000rpm, they'll be neck and neck. I am going to try this pretty soon. Will post up a video if possible.

so you are saying you need to limit the m/t to try to level the playing field? are both "test cars" gonna have same miles, wheels, tires, mods, compression, weight etc?

why make a video when they are all over the interwebz, also given that the one would be handicapped would it be a fair race/comparison?

and an added bonus for 200 the 5speed vs 6speed

All over the internet? Show me ONE video of a 6 speed auto vs a 6 speed manual.

I watched that video 7 years ago. That's a 4 port 4 speed auto

Yes, they are ultimately slower, but they aren't as slow as everyone thinks. At least not the 6 speed autos.

I'm not going to spoon feed you, I'll give you some hints tho.

gear ratios for the s2

an r3 getting beat by a s1

Good point with the gear ratios. I put lower profile tires on and gear down 5% while having #40 wheel and tire assembly from Enkei GF1's and 225/40r18.

Automakers seem to put too high gear ratios on auto's, but I like smaller wheel anyway.

None of those vids have a 6 speed 6 port auto in it. I don't doubt that I wouldn;'t like the 4port 4speed auto.

I don't need to be spoon fed. I've looked on YouTube and I couldn't find a single video of a 6 port auto vs a 6 port manual. You said they're "all over the interwebz". They're clearly not.

That's not a 6 speed auto vs 6 speed manual race. Did you read the caption? It says the 04 has mods.

Btw, I thought the series 2's gear ratios were revised for better acceleration

this is so off topic from ops thread. i only came here when he first posted to see his reasoning and let him know it would be easy to find someone that bought an inferior car (auto) and trade for his better m/t 8.

iirc theres a thread about auto vs m/t here

stick more better, fact

this thread is now ****** and should be locked

I missed this. Yes, at least until I raise the auto's rev limiter. Both stock. My car vs an R3. R3 has around 20,000 miles. Mine has 4000 miles. He's got stock wheels. Mine has 245/40 R18, so that might be a disadvantage. Both cars will have 2 people inside. We'll see how it goes
