i have been pulled over many times and always have both my front and passenger windows down if the cop does say something i tell him that i have them down for his security and always do that the main reason dark tint is illegal is that officers cant see in the car when they approach its always worked for me i dont think they can make you put your windows up either
limo tint on rear, dark up front, 6in. limo tint on front windshield. an all black 8 looks superb ! Oh, and i have not been pulled over for my tint. i have been pulled over once (didn't get a ticket), but it was for not having my plates (some kind of issue between the dealer and the DMV, which has now been resolved).
I've got 5% (limo) tint on the back windows and 15% on the two front windows.
The front windows are highly illegal here in California but guess I've just been lucky so far.
damn. and i thought i was dark . what about your sunroof? lol. everytime i see a cop around, i just roll down my windows before he passes me up, or until we go our seperate ways
I thought the CA law was any on rear and passenger and 70% front?
In CA you can tint as dark as you want on the rear windows.
In the front, it is illegal to put ANY tint other then the "uv tint" that some carmakers put on at the factory.

The sunroof comes with some tint on it already so I just left that part alone.
I drive with the sunroof open a lot so it kind of makes the tint look a bit lighter on bright days (since there's so much sun coming into the car)
I don't have access to any pictures right now (actually don't have any that show the tint for that matter) but I have 35% on the back and 50% on the front which is Virginia's legal limits! It doesn't look very dark though! My tint actually has kind of a goldish color and can be seen through pretty easily with the sunshade open which probably helps! I'm in Cali now and I'm about to put my Cali tags on (still have Virginia tags on it), we will see what happens once they think I am a resident!
