Why do people key sports cars?

Alot of people I know who have sports cars seem to get keyed in parking lots at some point. Including... RX-8's, G35's, Corvette's, etc. I'm afraid to take my 8 to the damn mall. No one has ever keyed my Jeep.

often times it's because people in sports cars have a superiority complex so they park like *** hats (taking two spots, double parking, etc) and people take offense.

other times it's just the stupid people of the world expressing their jealousy.

One you can avoid, the other you cannot.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no conservative, but I think it ultimately goes back to **** poor parenting. That's where you learn to respect other people's stuff.

I think so too.
Sadly, how do you fix a problem if the cause itself doesn't know it's a problem?

It doesn't surprise me that "most people think they are really good drivers."
So a license to have kids likely won't work.

We're doomed to be keyed sooner or later because bad parenting echoes through generations.

I remember when I was a kid I was riding my bike to close to my dads jeep and the handlebars put a big scratch in it. He had just had it painted and my bike was brand new. He then put a scratch on my bike, taught me to respect other peoples stuff lol. It was a bit extreme but it worked great because I learned right then and there about the value of personal property.

Because people are asses. Half the time I think it's some punk kid who owns a "sport car type"that thinks their make is the only make that counts and are like F#@k you car mines better. You know adults that haven't grown up pasted their 16 year old high schools mentally ie:children.

My guess is that someone went in to try and steal a timing belt and ended up pissed off.
