wheel paint

i wnet searching for an answer< but i couldnt find one. does anyone know what paint is used on the stock wheels? my father borrowed my car and curbed the wheel and i need the right paint for the color to match. i was thinking about duplicolor paint but wasnt to sure about the shades matching. im also very aware that nothing will match perfectly< but i just want something close. and feedback would bew appreciated.

I heard the sunlight silver is a pretty good match for the wheel...you might get a small touch-up bottle from your dealer...

if that was the case then i wouldn't need to know what paint... i would rather fix it myself than make him pay for it

i dunno how difficult it would be to touch it up with another colour, the difficult part being that it may not match.

an idea would be to just redo all the wheels.
1) all the wheels will match
2) since you already have all the paint

tell us how it goes, and post pics i love pics.

Damn you're a nice guy. I used Sunlight silver on my oem wheels and it was a pretty close match. You'd have to be right up on them to tell the difference.

When I curb checked one of my wheels....I used emory cloth. a couple diffrent grades...sanded it down until it was all smooth and clean.. then rubbed alcohol on the area to get all grease and grime off...then the paint I used was Rustoleum Aluminum Color..I have used to do so some other minor work before, the paint is an exact match to the wheel paint. my curb check was small so i hand painted the area with a liner brush...can not even tell that it was bumped...

The repair works

I followed the BMW instructions to fix curb rash on this wheel but used the Duplicolor Silver paint you can get at Advanced Auto. This is a good match. Note I did use the Duplicaolor clear coat on top of the silver paint.
