What do you guys think? RX-8 vs. FD RX-7??

Just wondering what you guys think about the new RX8.. since people started to get theirs, and some of you are RX7 owners in the past, wanted to get some info.. I just saw one today and its was pretty nice.. i was unable to test drive it due to all the ones that were in stock were sold..

Let me know what your impression compare to the FD RX-7..
The inside looks pretty nice.. clean and simple.. the front end looks weird to me.. but growing to like it.. Also the engine bay.. wow.. now all these new cars starting to cover up the goods.. All I could see was little bit of Lower Intake Manifold..

i think the same way about the front too.The car inside is nice . someone at the parts department said they can order themazdaspeed front bumper and kit if you willing to pay extra . i own a fd too but i got a baby know so the idea of the 8 is good for me.

I have seen the RX-8 Mazdaspeed version of the front end.. and it looks so much better.. I don't know if its just the angle of the pics.. I guess i need to wait and see it in person.. I'm thinking about getting rid of my current daily and purchase the RX-8.. But i heard few months back that RX-7 is coming back in 2005.. I can't decide..

I have a 94 RX7 as well as an RX8. The RX7 is obviously much faster (of course, it isn't stock), but the RX8 is a much better car for me. Don't get me wrong, I love my 7 and for pure performance and speed, it is the better of the two cars. But the RX8 is still a hell of a lot of fun to drive, it is a lot more comfortable, it isn't ten years old and overall it is a much better daily driver. I don't feel that losing some of the true sportscar characteristics of the 7 is too much of a compromise. I have been very happy with the performance of the 8 and don't find the lack of low end torque to be too much of a problem. I think if you're used to driving rotaries you tend to rev it anyway.
So there's my long and rambling opinion. I'll probably be selling my 7 soon and I will be very sad to see her go, but the RX8 will definitely help the pain go away.

FDs would eat RX-8s for breakfast. :D I guess it depends on what you want, a new car with a touch of luxury, 0 miles and room for 4 or a two seater that'll give you whiplash.

I LOVE the FDs though I've never had the opportunity to own one. After I got my 8 I was looking into buying a 93-94 but even the ones in my area with 115k miles on them are still going for $15000. Talk about resale value...

Well...I would not give up my 94 FD for an RX-8. I am just to attached to it. However , the wife and I will be buying a RX-8 A/T for her daily driver.

Me too.. I can't imagine giving up my FD.. since I have another engine and two extra rotor housing for the future.. Stock piling for something bad to happen.. i know that day will come..

Joking aside, I haven't had a chance to drive the 8.. just got to see inside and out.. I'm thinking about getting rid of my daily and possibly getting an 8.. since all my cars are paid off.. its time to take on a loan!!!
