Question Visor Help!

Hi Everyone, I finally took (well about 4 weeks ago) delivery of my 8! Drives as beautifully as they look don't they?

Anyway, I am in a bit of trouble... as most of you are aware, there is a card-slot built into the visor of the driver's side. Well I don't know how it happened, but my gate-key-card got wedged all the way in! I haven't had much luck trying to get it out. Has anyone else had this problem? Suggestions please!! Thanks everyone.

-Alex

Another card with non-foam 2 sided tape on one edge can be slid part way in (you may have to pry the opening wider a bit, but it should flex). Press the two cards together through the visor, then pull them out.

An undocumented feature not mentioned in the user's manual? I wonder what other undocumented features I'm missing out on ?

OK. I found the "card slot" you are talking about. :p
I suppose you could use that as a card slot, though it will swallow any normally-sized card I can imagine without returning it, as you have experienced.
That slot is for the removal of the vanity mirror from the visor. Both visors have it.
Best bet is to use a body trim stick and pop the vanity mirror out, then retrieve your card.
Next time, don't put your card so far into the slot. :D

geee, do ya think so??

I first read about this slot on the "Little Things" thread and think it's great. I take extreme care not to slide things in too far cuz I've been worried about getting stuff stuck in there. Let us know how you resolve it.

Check out "The Little Things" thread. Lots of eye-opening stuff there.

Hello Hayseed and 8_wannabe,

Somehow, I missed that gem of a thread "The little things" https://www.rx8club.com/violations-53/little-things-9437/

Thanks for pointing it out. Very cool thread.

Cheers,
