LONG VENT!!!!

Well I really haven't driven the 8 to much simply because its winter and the 8's feet don't like it. Well Starting back a few months ago I started getting a rattle whenever I would drive slowly coming from the front right of my car....thought it might be the spring from the TSB so figured I'd get it taken care of in the Spring...

well today I actually decided to drive my car.....Was driving about 70 mph with that annoying rattle when all of a sudden I hear a thump under my car on the passenger side like I hit something...

SO I step on my brakes and the car veers to the right...and then suddenly my TPMS light comes on...

so immediately I think ooops popped my front my right tire..bye bye beautiful Toyo...

well I get out and check the pressure....all is good...so I circle the car and look at my back left wheel...its completely flat...I try putting air in it but you can just hear it leaking out just as fast....

so two hours later I get a stocker back on and decide to drive off after the tow truck leaves....well ....

The first thing I notice is, "Hey the rattles gone"! .......so im happy until I get off the highway and pull up to a light.....

I press my brake and the car jerks to the right, im like WTF? So I get out in a mcdonalds about 100 yards away and check my front right wheel....I shake it and the thing actually shakes.....I can move the wheel like a B(#*$ so now I know somethings broken...so I limp home...braek pressure seems to have dropped so I have to engine brake like crazy ...

I get home and let my bro drive it at about 5 mph and I see the wheel is just wobbling...I check the bolts and they are all tight....and I don't think the bearings on the wheel are bad because the control arm and everything else shakes when I try and shake the wheel as well......

so tommorrow its off to the dealership to find out what broke off my car and popped my new Toyo tire......awesome

Is that the missing defective control arm they've been searching for with the recall?

They were concerned one or two of them slipped into the US market.

Ok well I found out what the problem is. I don't think the control arm is broken, I seem to be missing a bolt or something that holds the arm in place or some doodad of the sorts............do you guys know whats missing? And if I can buy the piece and install it myself without having to pay the dealership for labor ?

Take that control arm out and see if the rubber bushing is coming out, which looks like it is in that first pic. If you can hammer it back and find a bolt that fits, you're home free. Replacing the tire's a different story.

HOLY CRAP!!!

I get the same rattle in my right front!

I keep sending it back to the dealer and they tell me the sound is gone. The thing is that when they return the car to me the sound indeed goes away but after a while driving (Afew days) the sound returns.

In my previous car I had a similar sound and it was the swaybar not being torqued down correctly. I am losing my freggin mind trying to figure it out.

I will check in the morning to see if this could be the problem.

some advice. if you did the lowering spring install yourself, you messed up and didnt tighten something. if you had the job done professionally, take it back to the spot where it was done and raise hell. they didnt tighten the control arm bolts.

No, d00d, no specs. The topic has changed, we're now talking about boobies.

Take the bolt from the control arm on the other side off, see if it will work on the missing bolt's side. If it does, get a ride down to one of the nut and bolt places in town like Ace Bolt And Screw, or Alamo Bolt And Screw and have them dig a new bolt out for you. Worse case scenario, they don't have it, haul *** to Pick-n-Pull and go to the Mazda section and dig around there.

Not a good idea. You also need to know the hardness spec for the bolt in addition to the type, length, size, and thread pitch.
