Utterly confused

I own an 05 and just recently started, when in fifth at about 50 mpg, the abs, drive train and handbrake come on.

If you honestly do have something utterly confusing you better be able to provide more detail than that ... because your post is utterly confusing.

1) You mean the handbrake light, or literally the handbrake?

2) You mean the ABS light or the ABS activates?

3) Drive train what? Do we have a drivetrain light?

Any new mods recently ... umm like huge wheels and tires?

I am more confused on how your getting 50 mpg out of your car??

New tires? check your air pressure. and How old are your Brakes?

Ok gotcha ..
Handbrake light
Traction Control Light
ABS light

We need you to provide you maintenance and modification list.

Like we asked already ... have you recently changed the size of the wheels/tires have you done something with the brakes?

It most defiantly sounds like you are issues with a speed sensor of some sort

Check to make sure the ABS is plugged in ... securely

I have not changed the tires at all, I did however change the brakes a few days ago. As for the abs where would that be?

You also might want to check the exhaust bearings, and make sure your blinker fluid is above the "Add" line.

I don't think it's either of those, I manage them frequently with my sardonic toggle.

Might have whacked an ABS sensor wire while working on the brakes. No connection to the sensor = no ABS, no stability control.

The "handbrake" light is also the brake malfunction light.

When you say, "change the brakes", what exactly did you "change"?

Good point. Important point.

BTW just as an FYI to everyone/anyone:

(By accident) I took off down the road with my lug nuts on the driver side front tire only finger tight.
Traction control light came on about a 1/2 mile down the road.

I just changed the pads... Turns out I'm losing traction and it kicks on abs. Only question now is why?

I had odd sized tires on my car when I bought it 225/45/18 and 245-45-18 and that used to cause the same lights to come on at high speed and it would reset every time I turn off the ignition. Check your tire profile, it may also cause the same fault if one tire is warn and one it new.

your plug is not connecting. Happened to me once when I was driving on highway, something flew by my car went over it, took my left front fender cover out and Ripped the connector apart, all lights on dash came on to warn me.

step out the car, connect it back ,restart, no problems since. fender cover was on highway somewhere, good luck to whoever run it over, bought new one replaced the old one, and that was 3-4 years ago.
