Un-Owner looking for an Rx8
I just wanted to introduce myself to this forum. I don't own an Rx-8 yet, but I will.
Here's my background:
Back in '93 I purchased a brand-spankin' new Mazda Miata because I didn't qualify for financing for an Rx-7. I drove and loved that car for 12 years until a T-bone necessitated I sell it. That car ended up being the best bang-for-the-buck ever.
Tired of not being able to carry more passengers and wanting something different (perhaps a truck for convenience since I had never owned a truck in my life), I bought a Subaru Baja turbo with manual transmission thinking it would be the best of both worlds.
Well let me tell you, while I don't have buyer's regret, the Baja just isn't for me. I really feel that if I could live with the Miata's tiny trunk for 12 years, I certainly could live with the Rx8's. I really miss the 50/50 weight distribution and the awesome gearbox. Sigh! But it's not a rotary, and back in '93, that's what I always wanted. Plus I can carry more than just one passenger. Now that I'm in a better financial state, I'm hoping for a second chance at rotary life.
This is a stretch, but is there anyone interested in an '05 Subaru Baja turbo with manual transmission that maybe they would like to trade their Rx-8 for (plus cash, of course!)?
Or anyone in the Southern California not like their Rx-8 for whatever reason and want to sell it to me (manual trans only please)?
Thank you and I look forward to being a valuable member of this site.

i would recommend checking out the for sale section at the bottom of the home page. you might be able to find something there...
also, i dont know what is still left to be had, but there were some insane deals on 'new' '05s up until recently. we're talkin like 8K off of MSRP here.... so take a look (just take a peek in the finance/purchase section to view testimonies; you can ask more questions there, too).
good luck!

Thanks for the advice, everyone. Yeah, I plan to sell my Subaru to a private party first, so I guess I should get cracking on that, but I don't know how long it will take to sell.
The $8K off MSRP for '05 models must be a nation-wide thing or something because I picked up the local newspaper just this morning and saw that deal at the local dealership.
