I was at Carlisle and there were only two RX-8's there out of a total of 3700 custom import cars. My head got pretty big seeing the swarm of people constantly around my car. The other was a red stock Rx-8 with no mods at all from what I could see. If anyone has any doubt that an RX-8 is a head turner, I have tons of film of us driving through the show looking at cars while people were turning around and staring and pointing at us. I felt pretty damn cool I am embarassed to say.

yeah i love mine also. it is truly amazing how many heads i constantly see turned and people pointing as you go by. although mine has been at the dealers since last thursday. i am going to spring her from jail this afternoon.

On the way home from the dealership on day one I got (among others), "the nod" from a guy in a 7 series b'mer, as well as "the nod" + gaping mouth from another guy in a Z4.

Also counltess, "nice car", "cute car", "what is that?", and tons of longing stares.


The other day at the supermarket, some guy actually followed me inside from the parking lot to ask me about my car, and on the way out, I got the random wave from a hottie pulling in, as I was pulling out.

People stop me constantly. It is both a little fun, and a Little embarrassing.

I agree, I refuse to go through a drive through window for anything. I have people follow me into my driveway to ask about the car. It can be annoying.

I've had my RX8 since August and the fun never ends.

I'm not sure about the following to your drive way, but the 8 does turn heads. What I think is cool is the head nod or the light flash from 7 drivers which is a nice surprise. although I still haven't found a universal way of replying other then the wave or head nod with other rotor nuts.

here's what i do... grab the pistol from the glove compartment... jump out of the driver's window (matrix style).. shoot the other person's car so it will explode! don't like that idea? how about giving the "suck it" sign and speeding off? no?...

i went to the local hotdog place and this girl working the drive thru was like "Man, Your car is PIMP!" then followed it with a few "DAMMMNNNS" and then started talking to her friend about how nice my car is. you cant help but love peoples reaction when they see the 8.

the universal rotor-head acknowledgement is the rotor shape with your hands.

put your hands together, fingers extended, touching thumb to thumb and index to index. theres some pictures on here some place, maybe someone can dig them up

Actually, be careful with that one. It is also a gang reference.
Make sure all of your fingers are extended as indicated, not just the index fingers.

I have one of those mini fans with the Rotary Symbol cutout, and stuck it on a board... and when someone drives by with Rotary, I place the cutout over my face like a mask and stick my tongue out through the opening of the rotary. Rotary Man!
