tri rotary
hey i was just wondering has anyone heard about a tri-rotary engine in a rx-8? a friend of mine said he heard they made a tri-rotary engine or were going to or something? lol thanx.. I'm just curious, I may be totally wrong. thanx

Ascosta Engineering (? might have the name wrong) did build an RX-8 with the 20B 3 rotor engine. All it was really is dropping in the Cosmo's turbo 20B engine and then they modded it with bigger turbos, etc. Put out like 800hp if I remember correctly.
As far as an official model from Mazda? No one has gotten word of that. There are rumors of maybe S/C or T/C (I think T/C is unlikely) or an increase in displacement to 1.5L.
