traction control? or not?

Just wondering....do you guys leave your traction control on or off...recently (since the weathers been nice) i've been keeping it off. It's seems like my car is more "jumpy" with out it and accelerates fasters..maybe its just me? and does it help save gas to keep it off???? with the raise in prices i'll do anything to save gas.. :D

I bought a base model so I did not have to bother turninig it off. I find it incredibly easy to control the rear end and a lot of fun too.

turn it off by holding the switch down for 7 seconds or so.. that will compleatly turn it all of.. you will get more HP out of the car and yes it will handel more like an oldfashiond rear whell drive car..
Sliding though corners a bit but more hp out of the turns.. try it..

it will reset when you turn off the car and restart it..

be carful thow.. it will be a compleatly diffrant beast

I usually switch it off if I remember. I like the option of having it or not during adverse weather conditions.

I can report that the Base 6-Speed (no DSC) is an absolute joy to drive, and quite controllable at the limits of adhesion.

I don't think I'd want to drive an RX-8 in everyday (no frozen precip.) conditions if it had DSC on by default. I'd prefer to be able to activate the DSC, perhaps automatically, if the weather turns cold and there is a threat of ice/rain/wintry mix.

When I want to drive enthusiastically, it's usually a spontaneous thing - I wouldn't want to have to hold down a switch for 7 seconds and then start "gettin' it".

Don't get me wrong, if I'd had more money in my budget I'd have gotten a GT (with DCS), and I was worried that the Base would be too base for me. But the Base has been love at first drive. And,ironically, it has way more options and amenities that my old '94 BMW 325is...

I believe if you just push it it doesn't turn it completely off

There are many other discussions about the pros and cons of DSC/TCS.
